Prince Joachim of Belgium, Archduke of Austria-Este
Prince Joachim was born on 9th December 1991. Unlike his two older siblings who were only created Prince and Princess of Belgium after their births (Astrid only gained succession rights in 1991) Prince Joachim was born into the line of succession. In 1991 he was 6th in line to the throne. Joachim's parents are Princess Astrid of Belgium and Lorenz, Archduke of Austria-Este. His full name is Joachim Karl-Maria Nikolaus Isabelle Marcus d'Aviano. He is currently 8th in line.
Joachim is the middle child, the sandwich of the family. He has two older siblings Prince Amedeo and Princess Maria Laura and two younger sisters Luisa Maria and Laetitia Maria. Like his older brother Joachim went to boarding school in England, however he attended 'Malvern College.' After graduating Joachim joined the Belgian army and eventually went into the Navy.
Economics must be a tradition amongst Princess Astrid's boys as her husband and eldest son both studied it, and so has Joachim. In 2011 he began a Bachelor of International Economics, Management and Finance in Milan, Italy.
