Masahito, Prince Hitachi or Prince Yoshi as he was called when he was younger was born on 28th November 1935. He is the brother of the current emperor (Emperor Akihito) and the 2nd son but 6th child of Emperor Showa and Empress Kojun (they have 7 children altogether). When he was born Prince Yoshi was 2nd in line to the throne after his older brother Akihito. Today Prince Hitachi is fourth after his brother's sons and grandson. Masahito completed all his education, including university in Tokyo.
On September 30th 1964 Hanako Tsugaru. Sadly the Prince and Princess Hitachi have no children. Despite his age Masahito still participates in many official engagements on behalf of the Chrysanthemum throne.
