Prince Constantijn is the third son and youngest child of Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands and her husband Claus. He was born in The Netherlands on 11th October 1969 and was christened Constantijn Christof Frederik Aschwin. One of his godfathers is King Constantine II of Greece. When Constantijn was born he was 4th in line to the throne after his mother and brothers. In 1980 his grandmother, Queen Juliana passed away and his mother became Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands. Prince Constantijn moved up to 3rd in line to the throne. Today he is back in 4th position. His mother abdicated in 2013 and his older brother forfeited his right to the throne.
Constantijn grew up with two older brothers Willem-Alexander (1967) and Friso (1968). He went to school and university in The Netherlands, and studied law. His first job was in Brussels, Belgium with the EU. In 2000 he completed a Masters of Business from a college in France. He then took jobs in Washington, D.C. and London before returning to a job in The Hague.
In his leisure time Prince Constantijn enjoys Football, Skiing, tennis and gold. He also enjoys reading, drawing and cooking. Prince Constantijn doesn't do as many official events as his brother, sister-in-law and mother, but does occasionally perform royal duties.
