Prince Louis of Luxembourg is the 3rd son and child of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg. He as born on 3rd August 1986 and his full name is Louis Xavier Marie Guillaume. One of his godparents is his paternal aunt, Princess Margaretha of Liechtenstein who married the brother of Liechtenstein's monarch. Through his mother and father he is related to the royal families of Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Belgium.Louis grew up alongside his siblings, Prince Guillaume, Prince Felix, Princess Alexandra & Prince Sebastien.
Louis was educated at the American School of Luxembourg. Like his two older siblings he then went on to boarding school in Switzerland. On 29th September 2006 Louis married Tessy Antony. Upon his marriage he gave up his rights to the Luxembourg throne. Prince Louis and Princess Tessy have two sons,
1). Prince Gabriel of Nassau (12th March 2006)
2). Prince Noah of Nassau (21st September 2007)
In September 2017 Prince Louis and Princess Tessy filed for a divorce. They are currently separated. Upon their divorce Princess Tessy will lose her royal titles.
Prince Louis has a strong interest in social and humanitarian work. He has spent time in India working in schools run by NGO's and taught English. Louis has also spent time training with the Red Cross in Switzerland. Louis has also spent time studying in the USA to be a pilot. The Prince then went on to graduate from the American University of London with a Bachelor of Arts in Art in Communication.
Despite not being in the line of succession Prince Louis is the royal patron for the Luxembourg Table Tennis Association, the Luxembourg Martial Arts Federation and the Luxembourg Aeronautical Federation. Prince Louis enjoys mountain sports, cycling, hunting and scuba diving.
