Princess Ariane is the youngest child and daughter of King Willem-Alexander & Queen Maxima of The Netherlands. Her full name is Ariane Wilhelmina Maxima Ines. She was born on April 10th 2007. When she was born, Ariane was fourth in line to the throne as her mother, Queen Beatrix was still the reigning monarch. In 2013 Queen Beatrix abdicated, and her father became King Willem-Alexander. Ariane is currently 3rd in line to The Dutch Throne.
Ariane has two older sisters, Princess Catharina-Amalia (2003) and Princess Alexia (2005). Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg is her godfather. A month after her birth Ariane was hospitalised due to a lung infection, but recovered and was sent home three days later. Two years later Ariane was admitted over night for another respiratory infection.
Princess Ariane attends school and does not carry out any official roles as yet. She can however be seen at some official events with her parents and older sisters.
