Princess Lalla Salma of Morocco


Princess Lalla Salma or Morocco was born to Abdelhamid Bennani and Naima Bensouda in Fez on 10th May 1978. When Salma was just three years old her mother passed away, Salma her her sister Meryam were raised by her maternal grandmother.

Salma went to a private school in Rabat, Morocco. Princess Salma went on to study engineering at university. She met King Mohammed VI at a private party in 1999, the same year he became King. Mohammed and Salma were married on 21st March 2002. They have two children together;

1). Crown Prince Moulay Hassan (8th May 2003)

2). Princess Lalla Khadija (28th February 2007)

Whilst mostly keeping out of the public eye Princess Salma does undertake a number of royal duties. She has attended royal weddings overseas, supports cancer charities, attends the music festival of Fez, supports the fight against aids and represents her husband at various events.
