Princess Raiyah was born on 9th February 1986. She is the youngest of King Hussein's 11 children and the youngest of his daughters with his fourth wife, Queen Noor. Raiyah has two older brothers, Prince Hamzah and Prince Hashim and an older sister Princess Iman. Raiyah's father died on 7th February 1999 just 2 days before she turned 13.
Princess Raiyah has an avid interest in Japan. She attended the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and gained an undergraduate degree in Japanese. Princess Raiyah then went for her Masters in Japanese Literature at Columbia University.
Princess Raiyah worked in the field of human development in Tokyo, Japan for three years. She is currently living in Los Angeles completing her PhD at UCLA (University of California Los Angeles).
