Princess Stephanie of Monaco



Princess Stephanie of Monaco was born on February 1st 1965. She is the youngest child and second daughter of Prince Rainier III of Monaco and his wife Princess Grace. When she was born Stephanie was 3rd in line to the throne after her two older siblings, Princess Caroline (1957) and Prince Albert (1958). Rainier was already the ruling monarch at the time of her birth. Today she is 10th in line to the throne.

Stephanie began schooling in Monaco and attended Dames de Saint-Maur School. Stephanie graduated from Dupanloui in Paris in 1982. Whilst at school Stephanie was considered very athletic and participated in gymnastics and horse riding. Princess Stephanie also learnt the Piano. During her childhood she spent time at American summer camp, Camp Oneka.

On 13th September 1982 Stephanie was travelling back from France with her mother Princess Grace. They got into a car accident and her mother died the next day. Stephanie survived with just a fracture of her neck vertebra.

In 1983 Princess Stephanie began a fashion internship. She has continued to pursue fashion as a career. She has worked for Vogue, designed her own swim wear line and launched her own perfume brand. Princess Caroline also owns a number of cafes in Monaco and Barcelona. Princess Stephanie has also dabbled on the music industry and released a few singles.

Aside from fashion and music Stephanie is also involved in a number of charitable organsiations. She is the President of the Monaco Youth Centre, the Princess Stephanie Activity Centre, the Monte-Carlo Magic Grand Prix, the International Festival of Amateur Theatre and the Theatre Princess Grace. She is a board member of The Princess Grace Foundation and a patron of the International Circus Festival of Monaco as well as the World Association of Children's Friends. Princess Stephanie is also involved in the fight against AIDS on both the national and international stage.

Between all these duties and interests Princess Stephanie has also found time to raise a family. In 1995 she married Daniel Ducruet, and they have two children together Louis (1992) and Pauline (1994). Stephanie and Daniel divorced in 1996.

 In 1998 Stephanie gave birth to her third Child, Camille. Camille's father was not named on her birth certificate, but it is common knowledge that her father is Jean Raymond Gottlieb. 2003 saw Stephanie marry a second time, this time to Adans Lopez Peres, but they divorced in 2004. Stephanie and her family currently reside in Monaco.
