Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh was laid to rest at 12am this morning, for those in England it would have been 3pm April 17th. I watched the service from my apartment in Sydney, and it was beautiful and moving. The military display as well as the simplicity of what was really a family funeral was deeply moving, and I imagine Prince Philip would have approved.
Here are some special moments that were captured at the funeral.
The Land Rover specifically designed by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh for his funeral. The Land Rover is carrying his coffin covered by his own personal standard. Atop the coffin lies a wreath of lillies organised by Queen Elizabeth II, a sword and a hat gifted to the Prince by his father-in-law King George VI.
