Denmark

 The Danish royal family is one of my favourites. They just seem so relaxed! The Danes are only one of two countries at the moment with a queen at the head (the other of course is The United Kingdom). Queen Margrethe II is the reigning monarch and she has been since 1972. In 2008 the Danish government voted in favour of absoloute primogeniture (equal ruling rights for both males and females). The current line of succession looks like this;

Reigning Monarch: Queen Margrethe II of Denmark married to Prince Henrik*
Heir Apparent: Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark married to Crown Princess Mary  (Son of the Queen)
2). Prince Christian of Denmark (Grandson of Queen)
3). Princess Isabella of Denmark (Granddaughter of Queen)
4). Prince Vincent of Denmark (Grandson of Queen)
5). Princess Josephine of Denmark (Granddaughter of Queen)
6). Prince Joachim of Denmark married to Princess Marie of Denmark (Son of Queen)
7). Prince Nikolai of Denmark (Grandson of Queen)
8). Prince Felix of Denmark (Grandson of Queen)
9). Prince Henrik of Denmark (Grandson of Queen)
10). Princess Athena of Denmark (Granddaughter of Queen)
11). Princess Benedikte of Denmark married to Prince Richard 6th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (Sister to the Queen)*
12). Princess Elisabeth of Denmark (1st Cousin to the Queen)
