The mourning period of Queen Elizabeth II is wrapping up with her funeral today on 19th of September 2022. People from all over the world arrived. Prime Ministers, Presidents, Kings and Queens joined to say a final goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II, the most recognisable monarch in the world.

Of course along with the world leaders we saw the Queen's own family. Her own children King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward were front and centre to say a final goodbye to their mother.
All eight grandchildren were present. Her older 3 grandsons, Prince William, Prince Harry and Peter Phillips walked behind the coffin with their parents.
The Queen's daughter-in-laws Camilla Queen Consort, Sophie Countess of Wessex and son-in-law Sir Timothy Laurence were there.
The spouses of her married Grandchildren were also there. The Princess of Wales, Meghan Duchess of Sussex, Mike Tindall, Eduardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank.
Two of Queen Elizabeth's great grandchildren, Prince George and Princess Charlotte made a welcome appearance. The young royals travelled with their mother Catherine, Princess of Wales and step grandmother Camilla Queen consort. The two children behaved respectfully and were the picture of good behaviour the entire day.
Queen Elizabeth's nephew, David Armstrong-Jones Earl of Snowdon walked behind the coffin with his cousins. His children Charles Viscount Linley and Lady Margarita were also in attendance at the service as was Queen Elizabeth's niece Lady Sarah Chatto, her husband Daniel and her sons Samuel and Arthur Chatto. David and Sarah are the children of Princess Margaret, the Queen's late sister.

The Queen's cousin Prince Richard Duke of Gloucester and his wife Brigitte Duchess of Gloucester were in attendance along with their three children and their families. Despite being 78 years old the Duke walked behind his cousin's coffin from Westminster Hall to the Abbey and for the long walk from Westminster Abbey to St George's Chapel.

Prince Edward Duke of Kent was also in attendance but did not walk in the procession behind the coffin as he is 86 years of age. Katharine Duchess of Kent did not attend. The Duke's three children were in attendance with most of their children. Lord Nicholas Windsor's wife did not attend nor did his youngest son Louis.

The Duke of Kent's middle child, Lady Helen Taylor, her husband and her two youngest children Eloise (aged 19) and Estella (aged 18)
Queen Elizabeth's first cousin Princess Alexandra, Honourable Lady Ogilvy attended with her children and grandchildren.

The other surviving first cousin of Queen Elizabeth, Prince Michael of Kent was also in attendance with his wife Marie-Christine Princess Michael of Kent as well as their two children Lord Freddie Windsor and Lady Gabriella Kingston. Lord Freddie's wife Lady Sophie and Lady Gabriella's husband Thomas Kingston also accompanied them.
Other friends and more distant relatives also attended the funeral. Sitting next to the Queen's nephew was Sarah Ferguson Duchess of York. The Duchess is the ex-wife of Prince Andrew and the ex daughter-in-law of the Queen. She is also the mother of the Queen's granddaughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
Camilla Parker Bowles' children (King Charles III's stepchildren) Tom Parker Bowles, Laura Lopes and her husband Harry. They both attended with their children, Eliza Lopes (aged 14) and Gus and Louis Lopes (aged 13), Lola Parker Bowles (aged 15) and Frederick Parker Bowles (aged 12).
Lady Pamela Mountbatten and her younger daughter India Hicks. Lady Pamela was a first cousin to Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh and a close friend of Queen Elizabeth II. Lady Pamela herself is a descendant of Queen Victoria via Princess Alice.
After the service at Westminster the Queen's coffin was then taken to St George's chapel at Windsor for a more intimate service called the committal service. I will be covering that in the next post.
