The Sultan of Brunei is Hassanal Bolkiah, he has been the Sultan since 1967. The Sultan has a primary wife and has had two second wives though he has divorced them both. Between the three wives Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah has 12 children. Only males can inherit the Bruneian throne. There are at least 20 people in line to succeed to the throne of Brunei.
