Farewell Prince Mikasa

On the 27th of Octobet at 7:40am the oldest royal in the world passed away from heart failure. Takahito, Prince Mikasa was the uncle of current Japanese emperor, Emperor Akihito. He was 5th in line to the Chrysanthemum Throne. Prince Mikasa's funeral was held on the 4th of November.

Prince Mikasa had a long life, he died 2 months shy of his 101st birthday and just days after he hand his wife Yuriko celebrated their 75th anniversary. Together they raised five children and 9 grandchildren. Sadly both of them have outlived their three sons.

With the death of Prince Mikasa only four people remain in line for the Japanese throne. The emperor's two sons, Naruhito and Fumihito, his only grandson Hisahito and the emperor's younger brother Masahito.

We wish all the best to the Japanese Royal family during this difficult time. May his memory be a blessing.
