Princess Eugenie of York


Princess Eugenie is the younger daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. She is a granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. When The Princess was born she was 6th in line to the throne, currently she sits at 9th in line.

Eugenie Victoria Helena was born on March 23rd 1990 in London. The Princess was baptised in December that year. One of her godparents is James Ogilvy, her father's second cousin and the son of Princess Alexandra.

Princess Eugenie grew up alongside her older sister, Princess Beatrice (1988). Eugenie began her education at Winkefield Montessori School in 1992 at the age of two. In 19993 she began attending Upton House School where she remained until the age of 5. From there The Princess went on to Coworth Park School. In 2001 at the age of 11 Eugenie started at St George's School, Windsor School however two years later she began boarding school at Marlborough College in Wiltshire. Eugenie graduated in 2008 and then took a gap year. In September 2009 Princess Eugenie enrolled at Newcastle University where she studied Art History, English Literature and Politics. The Princess graduated in 2012.

In 2013 Eugenie moved to New York to take up a position at the auction firm Paddle8 as a benefits auction manager. Two years later she moved back to London and is currently working at an art gallery called Hauser & Wirth. She began her career there as an associate director and in 2017 received a promotion to director.

Like her mother and elder sister Princess Eugenie is heavily involved with the Teenager Cancer Trust. She also works with Children in Crisis. Eugenie works closely with the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and is patron of their Redevelopment Appeal. In 2013 Eugenie and her sister Beatrice represented Queen Elizabeth II in Berlin. Princess Eugenie is passionate about the environment and is an ambassador for Project 0 which works to protect the ocean from plastic pollution. She is also director of 'Anti-slavery Collective.' In July 2018 she spoke at the NEXUS Global Summit at the UN headquarters about ending modern slavery. Eugenie traveled to Serbia to visit a number of trust funds which work to fight against human trafficking and violence against women.

On the personal side of things Princess Eugenie got engaged to her long time boyfriend Jack Brooksbank on January 22nd 2018. The couple married on October 12th that same year. Eugenie had as one of her page boys Prince George of Cambridge, the son of her cousin Prince and William and grandson to Prince Charles of Wales. Included in her bridesmaids were Savannah and Isla Phillips, the daughters of her cousin Peter Phillips and granddaughters of Princess Anne, Princess Royal, Mia Tindall, the elder daughter of Eugenie's cousin Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall, also a granddaughter of Princess Anne. Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, daughter of Eugenie's cousin Prince William and granddaughter to Prince Charles was also a bridesmaids. Other bridesmaids included Maud Windsor, the daughter of Lord Freddy Windsor and his wife Sophie Winkelman and granddaughter to Prince Michael of Kent, Maud also happens to be The Princess' goddaughter, and Theodora Williams the daughter of singer Robbie Williams.
