Sporty Sundays, Series 4 (Tennis)

Tennis is one of the most popular sports in the world today. The sport has four grand slam tournaments in a year held in Australia, France, England and the United States as well as various other tournaments through out the year.

 Almost every country has a famous tennis player. Just as the rest of the world loves the sport, so do our royal families. Some play, some watch and some are head of tennis associations in their home countries. The royal sure do love their tennis!!!












































64 years of Queen Elizabeth II !!!


6th February: Today we celebrate 64 years since Queen Elizabeth II ascended the throne. When her father King George VI died, his eldest daughter Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II. She is Queen of The United Kingdom as well as the British Commonwealth. This includes countries such as Canada, Australia (home of yours truly), New Zealand and many more.

Congratulations to Queen Elizabeth II on this milestone reign. Serving 64 years means she has now had a longer reign than Queen Victoria who was Queen for 63 years and 7 months. 


Happy Birthday Princess Marie!!!


6th February: Happy 40th Birthday to Princess Marie of Denmark!!!!

 Princess Marie is the daughter-in-law of Queen Margrethe II. She is married to Prince Joachim of Denmark who is 6th in line to the Danish throne. Marie has two children with Joachim, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena. She is also stepmother to his two sons from his first marriage, Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix.

Congratulations to Princess Marie on the big 40. We hope she enjoys her celebrations with her beautiful family.

Happy Birthday Princess Louise!!!


6th February: Happy 12th Birthday to Princess Louise of Belgium!!! Princess Louise is the eldest child and only daughter of Prince Laurent of Belgium. Princess Louise is niece to King Philippe & Queen Mathilde and a grand daughter of the former King Albert II & Queen Paola. The almost teen princess is 12th in line to the Belgian throne.

Happy Brithday Princess Louise, enjoy your final year before hitting the crazy teens!!!
